Boa Technology, makers of the award-winning patented Boa® Lacing System found on an estimated one third of the world’s snowboard boots, announced today the formation of their first ever snowboard team. This progressive crew of young, industry up-and-comers is fueling the sport and making an impact everywhere they ride.

“Our roots run deep in snowboarding … Simply put, snow is in our company’s DNA,” says Garett Graubins, Marketing Manager at Boa Technology. “This team is another evolution in telling Boa’s performance and innovation story. These young-gun riders compete, film and photo in our partner’s boots with Boa. We are psyched to work with them and show support for a sport we all live for.”

2010 Team Line-Up
Wearing the Vans Cirro with Boa Focus and competing in this year’s Swatch TTR Tour, Dew Tour and Winter X Games, Eric Willett, 22, of Breckenridge, Colorado, is a rising star at slopestyle comps around the world. Competing at the 2009 Burton Opens, while also placing top ten overall in last season’s Winter Dew Tour, Eric travels the globe from New Zealand to Switzerland competing and filming. Eric is also sponsored by Vans, O’Neill, Omatic, Smith, Breckenridge Resort, Celtek, Flux and Me.Glad Brand. He is currently filming with The Nations Foundation.

Reigning from Bend, Oregon Skylar Thornton, 21, is a rider of many talents. Backcountry gaps, park or powder, Skylar rips them all in the K2 T1 boot with Boa Conda tech. In addition to Boa, Skylar is sponsored by K2 Snowboards, Volcom, DaKine, Electric, Skjersaas and Flatline Face Masks.

Scott See grew up riding the ice of Kalamazoo, MI. Recognizing the need for more altitude and a longer season to quench his thirst for pow, he packed his bags at the ripe old age of 21 (he’s now 24) and moved west to Keystone, CO. Scott wears the Ride Insano with Boa Focus and also shreds for: Ride, Monster, Smith Optics and Keystone Colorado. Check his blog out at www.scottsee.com and upcoming movie segments with SixEleven Productions.

Brandon Reis, 21, is a Winter X Games 14 Slopestyle athlete and Dew Tour vet based in Tahoe, CA. Plans for 2010: X Games, Dew Tour finals, Last Call, US Open, Arctic Challenge…and filming. Enough said. He wears the Flow, The ONE Boa Coiler. Brandon also hangs with Flow, Celtek, 525east, Bern and EasternBoarder.com

Justin Mullen, 18, is an exploding park and big mountain rider from Bear Creek, Pennsylvania. If your mountain has fresh snow…AK to PA…Justin will be there. He rides in the K2 Darko Boa and is sponsored by K2, Volcom and Electric.

Ivan Marcinko, 26, is a powerful, trick-savvy snowboarder calling Snowqualmie Pass, WA home base. Ivan rides in the K2 Darko Boa and T1 featuring Boa Conda technology. Also keeping the heat on this winter…K2 Snowboards, Planet Earth, Smith Optics, POW Gloves, Summit at Snoqualmie, EVO.

Ashley Thornton, 25, the lone lady on the Boa team (not for long!) calls beautiful Mount Bachelor home base. She’s set to compete in the Baker Banked slalom, North Face Masters, Nikita Chickita, Billabong Flaunt It and Super Girl Rail Jam in 2010. Ashley wears the Flow Lotus Coiler and is also sponsored by Flow, Nikita, Smith, Mt. Bachelor, Shredbetties, Flatline Apparel, Drop and Skjersaa’s Bend Or.

Steven Waters, 22, can usually be seen tearing up the mountain in Keystone, CO wearing the Ride Insano boot with Boa Focus. When he’s not on the snow, he’s at SixEleven Productions doing the marketing and promotions song and dance. Steven’s current sponsors include Ride Snowboards, Smith Optics, TS Boardshop and SixEleven Productions. Check out www.sixelevenproductions.com for upcoming films.
