Timbuk2 is launching the first Boa-powered laptop sleeve.

Timbuk2, the San Francisco-based messenger bag manufacturer, announces a partnership with Boa Technology to unveil the Boa Sleeve at OR Summer Market. Timbuk2 is the first company to use the renowned Boa® Closure System to create an adjustable laptop sleeve. The Timbuk2 Boa Sleeve accommodates laptops of most dimensions and provides the utmost protection and security thanks to the Boa Closure System.

“Timbuk2 knows that laptops are going everywhere with consumers these days and new computer sizes are emerging regularly,” says Timbuk2 CEO Mike Wallenfels. “We wanted to partner with the best closure system on the market to create a sleeve that provides 360 degree protection, maximum security and the versatility of sizing for all kinds of laptops on the market.”

Boa Technology began in 1998 as the brainchild of entrepreneur Gary Hammerslag. After recognizing the limitations of traditional shoelaces and other closure systems, he crafted a dial-based prototype that became the Boa Closure System. Now the gold standard of closure, it appears in numerous footwear categories including cycling, golf, outdoor, snowboarding, utility as well as helmets and medical bracing. Boa partners with over 100 premium brands, among them: K2 Snowboarding, Vans, Footjoy, Specialized, Red Wing, Bata Industrials, TrekSta, Smith, Exos Medical and DeRoyal Medical.

The Timbuk2 Boa Sleeve is available in February 2013 at select retailers and on www.timbuk2.com.
