The endless hours Charley Hoffman spent working in his sand game paid off in a huge way Monday, leading to an impressive five shot victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship. After finishing last season ranked near the bottom in sand-save percentage, Hoffman began working with short-game specialist James Sieckmann and noticed immediate improvements. Every one […]

I used to live in Flagstaff, AZ, Tour de Fat used to stop by our little
mountain town. For reasons unknown, the good people at New Belgium
stopped coming. The last year they held the event in Flagstaff, myself
and a few my friends decided to get dressed up like a couple of 70s-80s
record label executives, we had these cheesmo pastel colored suits on,
ridiculous wigs, and silly props consisting of a toy clown and a wooden
flute, business cards that read Dr. Strange and Shasta-Mac-Nasta. After
spending the entire day at Tour de Fat, and well consumed, we decided
to leave our bikes behind and steadily walk on foot, as we are passing
through town, we notice a large tour bus parked, light bulbs went off,
so we decided to approach the tour bus. Knock on the door, who
answers?? Stephen Marley, we ask Stephen if he wanted to hang out before
his show, not remembering that we were in full costume, the Marley
entourage politely ask us to leave. As we are walking, the 1+2
connected realizing how we just got severely denied, as well looking
like fools, I realized, I wasn’t wearing any shoes, my shoes became a
victim of the festivities. Now if I would have had these shoes you guys
are giving away, perhaps my luck would have been different. So in the
event that some day I have the opportunity to meet someone like Stephen
Marley and I am rocking these awesome shoes, perhaps the person on the
other end would be a little more welcoming. I WANT THOSE THANGS!!!!!

While I was in college I tried to ride my skateboard everyday to class. On one fine morning I packed up my bags and headed out to class. It was a cool Colorado morning but was not too cold. I got about halfway on my two mile ride when I thought it had gotten a little bit colder not sure why, I pressed on to class as I was late, as usual. I got into class late and everyone kinda looked at me funny but I went and sat down in the front row. I sat through about half of class when I noticed I had ripped my pants knee to knee in the crotch and I had been giving everybody a peepshow. I quickly crossed my legs and waited for class to be over. I tried to skate home as fast as possible but I kept ripping my pants…to the point…. where they were pointless… put them in my bag and rode home in my boxers.

Blood, sweat and tears - Stuart Oliver's winning photo
Congrats to Stuart Oliver for winning the first Facebook Fan “Boa Experience” contest. Keep posting your outdoor experiences on our Facebook Page for a chance to win more great prizes from Boa partners throughout the year!
My Boa story is about riding Apex, the trail with teeth, and how plastic and rubber are much more durable that skin and bones. In the wee hours of the morning one day this spring , I was attempting to get a quick Apex loop ride in before work when I… was ardently reminded that the Apex Beast preys on sleepy riders and takes no prisoners. With the early morning silence as the only witness to the Apex attack, All I have left are the scars, a photo and a set of perfectly functioning BOA styled out bike shoes.
