Learn more about Boa Technology’s B Company Field Tester Program in this short video.
Think you’re tough on your gear? Do your outdoor pursuits lead you down unmarked paths, through waist-deep powder, straight into muddy puddles and occasionally up the proverbial creek without a paddle? If this sounds like you, then you know only the best product has survived throughout your adventures, with the rest tattered by the wayside. And this makes you the right person to join Boa B Company.
Boa B Company troops love active challenges and help make a tough product even tougher for the next generation. Click here to apply for the chance to join Boa B Company, a new field testing program that puts you in the driver’s seat to try new, unreleased products and help us develop and evolve the same world-class performance technology we’ve been delivering since 2001.
How it Works:
1. Experience the Fit. Try on a Boa-powered product for work, play or leisure and experience the benefits of the Boa Closure System (you can view a selection of Boa-powered footwear and equipment at www.boatechnology.com).
2. Upgrade Your Gear. Purchase a Boa-powered pair of cycling shoes, golf shoes, outdoor shoes, utility, hunting and fish boots or medical products.

Boa Products Win Three Awards at Europe’s ISPO Tradeshow
At the ISPO tradeshow in Munich, Germany, earlier this month, Boa Technology’s partner brands Atomic, Deeluxe and Smith all came away with awards for innovative new products that employ the Boa Closure System. Here’s the scoop on the winners from each of these category-leading brands:
Atomic Race Skate Nordic Ski Boot
Gold award winner, Cross Country Ski category

The new Atomic Race Skate is the world’s first skating race boot to feature the ultra-effective Boa Closure system. This smart system combines a thin, highly durable, stainless-steel lace cable with a mechanical reel on the exterior of the boot, which ensures a perfect fit with one quick turn of the Boa dial. The Race Skate is equipped with the carbon-reinforced SNS Pilot Racing outsole, so that all power is transferred forward. The outsole makes the boot exceptionally stiff – thereby ensuring precise ski control and explosive acceleration.
Deeluxe Spark Summit Snowboard Boot
ISPO award winner: Snowboarding
With a leather shell and lining, the Deeluxe Summit Snowboard boot offers premium performance and decadent luxury for backcountry boarding. Paired with the Boa Closure System, the C3 lacing provides the perfect fit and for a responsive ride and all-day dependability. The Spark Summit has a leather lining and Sympatex membrane to regulate moisture and maximize comfort.
Smith Optics Vantage
ISPO Award Winner: Ski Helmets
Updated Fall for 2013, the interior of the Vantage features Boa’s new FS360 fit system, which wraps around your head’s circumference to provide the highest level of resolution, delivering 1 millimeter of incremental adjustment with each click of the Boa dial. The Vantage is a hybrid shell helmet with Aerocore technology that maximizes full coverage protection and increases airflow. Combine this with the Smith-pioneered AirEvac technology for goggle integration, and the Vantage delivers the perfect blend of technology and style.

Boa-Powered Louis Garneau Snowshoes Win Multiple “Best in Show” Awards at OR
At this month’s Winter Outdoor Retailer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah, several media outlets presented “Best In Show” awards to Boa partner brand Louis Garneau.
Louis Garneau’s Yeti snowshoe, featuring the Boa-powered Contact Pro Harness System, was received the “Best In Show” award from leading outdoor gear-review website, The Gear Institute. Say the website’s editors: “Louis Garneau’s Yeti Snowshoe is the first we’ve seen to use a Boa System instead of straps and buckles, and the system is much lighter than most.” Read the full story here: http://www.gearinstitute.com/best-in-class/item/best-of-outdoor-retailer-awards.

The Boa Closure System found on the Yeti high-performance backcountry snowshoe (pictured here) applies even, secure adjustment to the super-light weight binding, while also allowing maximum adjustability in order to accommodate most footwear types–from running shoes to winter boots.
Louis Garneau’s Course running snowshoe received Gear Junkie’s coveted “Best in Show” award. “Amongst the lightest made, the Louis Garneau Course snowshoes touch the scale at just 720 grams per pair (…) Bonus: A webbing shoe harness and turn-to-tighten Boa Technology dial let you wear any of your normal trail-running shoes in the Course,” wrote Gear Junkie in his review. Read the full review here: http://gearjunkie.com/best-in-show-outdoor-retailer-show-winter-2013
The Course (below) features Louis Garneau’s Contact Lite Harness with two Boa dials–one to adjust forefoot fit, and a second to secure the heel. This dual-adjustment design ensures natural foot positioning and running stride.

And last but not least, Gumption Gear awarded the Louis Garneau Yeti snowshoe its “Best in Show” award. The editors lauded the Yeti with comments like this: “By merging a high-performance snowshoe with the Boa Closure System, Louis Garneau is shaking up the snowshoe industry.” Read the full review here: http://www.gogumption.com/gear-reviews-2/best-in-show-awards-outdoor-retailer-winter-2013/

K2′s Kwicker Splitboard System Features Boa-Powered Stark Boot

Two years in the making, recently launched the Kwicker® Splitboarding System, a fully integrated backcountry boarding system that incorporates board, boot, and binding. It is the lightest and fastest splitboarding system available, and K2 says it is poised to change the sport thanks to huge leaps forward in weight reduction, transition speed, and overall user-friendly mechanics.
Based on a new evolution of the Clicker binding interface, the proven board hardware of the Voilé system, and leveraging boot function and fit technologies like Boa®Conda and Endo Construction, Kwicker® takes the best of snowboarding innovation and pushes splitboarding into a new era of performance.
This new system is a new take on K2′s old Clicker System, but with significant improvements, particularly to the boot design. Kwicker’s Stark boot (pictured here) uses Boa Conda (K2′s creation using the Boa Closure System). The K2′s global marketing manager, Hunter Waldron, recently described the boot this way in an interview with Transworld Snowboarding:
“The weak point in the Clicker System was the boot. Ten years ago we just didn’t have the technology to solve the highback and ankle strap replacement challenges. But with the Endo construction and the Boa Conda internal heel hold, those problems are solved without bulky external parts that were bolted to the previous generation boots. Also, fit technology has improved by leaps and bounds. With better materials like Intuition foam liners, Boa precision lacing and better last shaping, our modern-day fit makes a step-in system possible again.”

Denver Post Highlights Boa Technology’s Rapid Rise

Here is an excerpt from the Denver Post article, which you can read in full here.
Thanks to an investment last month by a San Francisco firm, Boa is expanding and launching deeper into the medical-bracing and safety-utility industries, offering its dial-to-tighten lacing system in helmets, safety pads, work boots and orthopedic braces.
Boa’s path over the past decade includes large steps. When it moved from snowboarding into cycling in the early 2000s, it nearly doubled its reach. Then, golf shoes doubled the cycling market. Then, outdoor shoes. And now, medical and utility.
“They’re what, 50 times, 100 times bigger than all those markets?” said Boa chief financial officer Merle McCreery. “We proved we could gain market share in snow, and in these new market categories we are going into, we don’t need to gain nearly as much market share to really grow the revenue.
“The new majority stake by Glenbrook Consumer Partners — an investment firm focused on innovative consumer brands with $10 million to $40 million equity investments in such brands as Jamba Juice and Under Armour — will further elevate Boa’s closure system, now found in 100 brands divided into 15 primary categories.
